The Challenge

ATC Management wanted to develop a ticketing solution aimed at reducing ticket touts, and explore ways of providing a more engaging and secure way of delivering tickets to fans.

ATC Management wanted to trial Active’s end-to-end mobile ticket platform at three live music concerts:

  • Kate Tempest: 20th September @ The Rivoli Ballroom, Crofton Park.

  • Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes: 10th November @ Electric Ballroom, Camden London.

  • The Temperance Movement: 6th December @ Bush Hall, London.

The Solution

Active successfully integrated with a renowned security technology to ensure a secure ticket distribution and delivery for the Kate Tempest, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, and Temperance Movement gigs.
From ticket purchase, through to ticket redemption, fans were given a controlled ticketing environment that eradicated ticket-scalping bots and a malicious reseller market.

To retrieve and access their tickets, fans were prompted to download Active’s ticketing platform. Once downloaded, fans were rewarded with not only access to their digital ticket, but exclusive artist content such as social media walls, photo galleries, music videos, and venue information.

Ticket redemption was streamlined and seamless on the night of the gig. Fans’ digital tickets were effectively scanned, and real-time fan data was collected such as who, and how many people, were within the venue at all times, ensuring increased security levels at the event.

The Outcome

Active’s mobile ticket platform created a successful end-to-end sales, and mobile ticketing delivery and redemption for all three music events. The platform gave greater visibility on fan data and pioneered a secure and controlled secondary market that eradicated ticket touts.

Through the data analytics platform, ATC Management received insightful data such as:

  • Statistics surrounding mobile adoption, which averaged at 97.5% for all three events, signalling a positive shift towards a mobile ticketing platform that is easier and more accessible than paper tickets.
  • The rate of mobile scanning redemption at the door and the rate of non-attendance vs attendance.
  • How many people were within the venue at all times during each event.
  • Breakdown of fan attendance and arrival times at the door. Between 30-40% of ticket holders tend to arrive within the first 30 minutes of the doors opening time.
  • Percentage of iOS and Android users.

    Due to the success of the mobile ticket platform, Active is further developing their partnership with ATC Management, and will be deploying their ticketing solution at more music events throughout 2017.
